I really struggled with the lack of "uniqueness" in this version. Ridley Scott brings his usual scale and style, but the story itself feels flat and overly serious. The chemistry between the leads is decent, but the "American and Australian" attempts at British accents are a constant distraction. Itβs a polished, professional film that lacks the soul of the original legend. Itβs an "only if you're bored" recommendation

When soldier Robin happens upon the dying Robert of Loxley, he promises to return the man's sword to his family in Nottingham. There, he assumes Robert's identity; romances his widow, Marion; and draws the ire of the town's sheriff and King John's henchman, Godfrey.
