After picking up a traumatized young hitchhiker, five friends find themselves stalked and hunted by a chainsaw-wielding killer and his family of equally psychopathic killers.
This remake replaces the psychological dread of the original with an exhausting amount of high-pitched screaming. It’s hard to stay invested in a horror film when the characters seem determined to make the worst possible decisions at every turn. Between the lack of survival instinct and the predictable tropes, this is one "massacre" you can afford to skip.
