A priest with a dark past and a novice nearing her final vows are sent by the Vatican to Romania to investigate a nun's death and face a demonic force.
As an entry point into this cinematic universe, The Nun is a bit of a paradox. Is it a well-crafted film? Not really. It’s clunky and relies heavily on tropes. But does it succeed as a horror vehicle? Unfortunately for my sanity, yes.
The jumpscares are relentless enough that I can’t even focus on the script’s flaws because I’m too busy checking the shadows in my living room. I’ll be continuing my marathon of this universe, but strictly with reinforcements and a well-lit room
