I’ll admit to some personal ignorance here: I went into this movie barely knowing who Kafka was. It turned out to be a massive eye-opener. The film does a beautiful job highlighting the qualities that made him an outcast in his own time—traits that we now recognize as pure brilliance. While biopics often fall into the trap of over-glamorizing their subjects, Franz felt like it tried to paint a whole, honest picture. It’s a fascinating look at a man who was simply ahead of his era.
