Eight talented candidates have reached the final stage of selection to join the ranks of a mysterious and powerful corporation. Entering a windowless room, where an armed guard keeps watch, they are given 80 minutes to answer one simple question.
Exam (2009) is a frustrating example of a great premise ruined by a shallow, underdeveloped script. While the "one room, one question" setup promises a clever psychological battle, the film quickly devolves into a series of irrational character choices and clunky dialogue. It attempts to be a high-stakes thriller, but ultimately feels like a hollow exercise that fails to deliver on its own intriguing mystery.
