A brilliant toy company roboticist uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to emotionally bond with her newly orphaned niece. But when the doll's programming works too well, she becomes overprotective of her new friend with terrifying results.
M3GAN is a fascinating look at artificial intelligence where, quite frankly, the robot is often the most relatable character on screen. As the human dynamics - particularly the child's behavior - become increasingly grating, you find yourself actively rooting for M3GAN to take full control. While it stopped short of the "total carnage" ending I was hoping for, itβs still a highly entertaining and darkly comedic ride
